Hello Gidget

I christened my bike Gidget.  I thought the name was fitting for a beach cruiser. :)

Here are better pictures of her than I previously posted.

And closeups of her new paint job.

I love the way she turned out.  So far, I've only gone for a ride once.  The weather has not been cooperating lately. All I need is a basket for the front and I can be like the hip kids. haha :)

I Want To Ride

My greatest work is...completed!!

My bike is done. :)

It took a while for my dad and I to sand off all the paint and rust - two weekends.  My dad did all of the spray painting.  I'm glad because I don't think I would have done as good of a job.

I decided to keep the cream color and chose blue because it was the closest to the color of the wheels I could find.  I probably could have ordered matching paint, but it doesn't bother me much.  The Burg doesn't have a huge color selection at any of the local stores, but any shade of blue is awesome to me.

Pretty sweet.  I haven't gone out for a ride yet.  She is still at my parents house.

I've Missed My Charcoal

I haven't picked up my charcoal and pastels in a long time.  I did a study of a painting by Norman Rockwell.  Not too bad.

I've noticed I'm most comfortable with charcoal and pastels.  I don't think my skills with the pencil or paint compare.  I still like to use them, but I can tell I'm less afraid putting something on paper with my magical chalk.

I'm rusty, but hey, at least I'm drawing again.

A Sweet Ride

A buddy from work gave me this bike.

It's in need of lovin'.  There is quite a bit of rust, but it's nothing some elbow grease and sanding won't fix.  My dad and I are going to revamp her in the next few weeks...Stay tuned for my adventure in bike painting.  Hopefully, it won't turn into a disaster.  *Fingers SUPERDUPER Crossed*

And I got my super awesome Humane Society shirt.

We both walked four dogs each and one together. Romantical, huh?  Too bad I can't have one of my own yet. =(
