Puppy Love

I'm rather excited.  Namath and I are going to start walking dogs at the Humane Society. =)
It was, unbeknownst to him, on my to-do list for this year.  Since I have weekends off, I thought it would be fun to volunteer with animals.
I donate stuff to their thrift store when I do our spring/fall cleaning and try to donate money or useful items.  Anyway, I thought about the possibility of helping out with my time.
We've gone up there to visit a few times simply to tell the doggies they will eventually find a home.  We'd adopt one or two ourselves, but our landlord won't let us - which is a whole other story.
The last time we went up there we saw people with volunteer shirts playing with the dogs outside.  Namath asked if we'd be able to do it, and they say yes, they are in need of dog walkers.
So, on our way back to the car, Namath suggested if he could get the mornings off, would I like to walk dogs.  I think I must have swooned a little.  It was the sweetest idea EVER.  All the better because he asked.

The great thing about the Humane Society is they are a no kill shelter, so I won't feel terrible about leaving the dogs behind.  Plus, knowing a dog has been adopted means there is room for an other dog to find a home. <3

What about the cats?  I'm allergic, so someone else will have to play with them in Kittyburg. =)

Any volunteering suggestions?

30

Two weeks in to being 30, and what have I learned?

It's not as old when you're on this side of the spectrum even though your five year old self would beg to differ.

My 20s were still similar to my teenage years.  Still learning, awkwardly experimenting and day dreaming of what will happen when I'm "older."

My life isn't what I imagined it would be when I was "growing up."  In fact, it's far from it.  But, it's my life, and I'm digging it.  A lot of unexpected things happened in my 20s such as getting married (I never thought about it).  Good, bad, worse...I survived it all.

Figured out what makes me tick.  I always knew, but I acquired a  more precise picture of what I want for myself rather than thinking "is that what I want to do."

Keep it simple.  Keep it good.

Holy cow, I'm 30.

Banged Up and A Baby Stitting Adventure

Just when my running was going good, life kicks me in the butt. While taking a shower, the mounted ceramic soap dish fell off the wall and onto my ankle and cut me.  It hurt like hell, but Namath managed to bandage me up pretty good, as you can see. I probably should have gone to the hospital to get stitches, but I'm too stubborn.  It's not broken, and only two stitches max would be needed, so why bother?  I'm a hobbling fool right now. =)

On a life learning note, we watched Maclin over night, and it actually turned out OK.  I changed my first poopie diaper, and lived. (How stinky can a baby's get?!) He's a good baby, but it still gives us no desire to have one.  I liked giving him back.

I left them alone to go to a race, and this is how I find them.  Too cute!
